The estate’s gardens undergo their most dramatic transformation. The avenue of tropical birch turns from vibrant green to warm golden hues before shedding its leaves, while citrus trees begin to ripen with oranges, lemons and grapefruit. The roses produce their final seasonal flush, adding colour to a landscape rich in texture and autumn tones, creating a beautiful backdrop for your wedding day.

Autumn at our venue is a time of unparalleled beauty and comfort, making it an ideal choice for your special day. One of the most striking advantages of an autumn wedding at Wynmére is the opportunity to utilise the garden’s golden autumn colour palettes.
These hues provide a rich and warm styling to your event, adding an elegant and cozy atmosphere. Additionally, the season is known for its perfect weather; with temperatures that are comfortably mild, neither too hot nor too cold and most importantly, there is less chance of rainfall. Autumn is the perfect season for hosting outdoor ceremonies and enjoying canapé hour under the open sky.
This delightful climate ensures that your guests can relax and savour every moment. Think - Moreton Bay Bug & prawn agnolotti with lemon beurre blanc and watercress with a chilled white wine.
The cons
Due to its popularity, this season sees a high demand for weddings, which can make booking your preferred date and suppliers a bit more challenging. We recommend early planning and booking to secure your desired date and services.
Additionally, while daytime temperatures are warm and inviting, evenings can bring a cooler air. It’s important to consider this when choosing your wedding attire and to inform your guests about the potential for cooler temperatures, suggesting they bring a light jacket for evening comfort.
In the late autumn, our estate undergoes natural seasonal changes. Weeping trees and roses are pruned in preparation for winter, and leaf litter begins to decorate the grounds - While some might see this as a con, we find that it adds a unique and charming touch to wedding photos, capturing the essence of the season beautifully.
Winter
Undeniably one of our favourite seasons at Wynmère, winter reveals a quieter, more refined side of the estate. The gardens take on a distinctly European feel, with the ornamental weeping trees standing bare after their autumn leaf fall, creating elegant structure throughout the landscape.
At the same time, our citrus trees become a vibrant feature, their branches dotted with oranges, lemons and grapefruit, bringing welcome colour to the winter gardens.
Winter on Tamborine Mountain may just be the region's best-kept secret. Crisp mountain air, clear blue skies and gentle sunshine make it one of the most enjoyable times of year to visit—and perhaps the most magical season to experience Wynmère Estate.
The Pros
Mount Tamborine's winter weather offers ideal conditions for outdoor ceremonies with minimal rain, and cooler afternoon temperatures. The lower winter sun provides beautiful, soft lighting for photography, with earlier sunsets allowing for timely golden hour photos.
Our gardens are a delight for guests, and the cooler temperatures are comfortable for formal attire. Hair and makeup remain fresh longer in this climate. Our air-conditioned reception venue and outdoor heaters for cocktail hour ensures comfortable and cozy reception celebrations.

The cons
While fewer floral varieties bloom in winter, we recommend consulting with your florist to select the perfect style for your wedding. The landscape during this season often presents a unique aesthetic, with less greenery due to reduced rainfall. It's a different but equally charming backdrop.
Be prepared for cooler evenings; we advise informing your guests to bring jackets for added comfort, particularly when departing for the night.
For a week or two in August, the region experiences 'the Ekka winds,' which can be quite strong in the afternoons. Though Wynmére is protected by trees, we suggest to keep this in mind when deciding on your bridal hairstyle to ensure everything stays picture-perfect throughout your special day.
Spring
Spring is undoubtedly the most favoured season for weddings. During this enchanting time, our ornamental weeping peach trees showcase their full splendour, while roses and a variety of other flowers burst into vibrant life, adorning the landscape with a tapestry of colours.
The beauty of a jacaranda tree in full bloom is truly a sight to behold. In November, these trees are at their peak, their stunning purple petals harmoniously complemented by the matching hues of agapanthus. This combination creates a breathtaking lilac spectacle, offering a picturesque backdrop for any wedding.

Spring is a season that captivates everyone with its charm. It symbolizes new beginnings, with the sun casting its warm glow and creating a delightful ambiance. With clear vivid blue sky, mild temperatures and fresh mountain air make it an ideal time for outdoor ceremonies and garden celebrations.
The abundance of spring is not just limited to the blooming flowers, offering a plethora of choices for floral arrangements. It's also a time when fruits and vegetables are plentiful, adding to the season's freshness and vibrancy.

Given its popularity, spring is a season when our availability tends to be more limited, dates book out quickly / well in advance, especially if you're aiming for a Saturday, so early booking is essential.
The same can be true for many preferred suppliers, to ensure you secure your desired date with your top vendors we recommend at least a year or more prior to your wedding date.
When planning around natural elements like the weeping peach tree blossoms, it's important to remember that Mother Nature is unpredictable. While these trees typically bloom sometime between mid September and late October, we cannot guarantee a specific date for their peak. The blossoms can appear and conclude their display at any time within this period, adding an element of surprise to your springtime wedding planning.
November can be warm, so consider your ceremony time / location.
Summer
Summer is a vibrant season at Wynmére, marked by the gardens reaching their peak in growth and beauty. During this time, you can expect the flora to be thriving, displaying a lush and lively ambiance perfect for a nature-inspired wedding.
To provide a serene escape from the summer heat, we offer the open-air Atrium or our picturesque creekside ceremony location - Nestled under the expansive canopy of a Camphor laurel, this spot is ideal for those seeking a cool, shaded setting by the water. It creates a tranquil and refreshing atmosphere for both the couple and their guests.
Our venue is open for full reception bookings in February. However, we close for larger events during the months of December and January, when the South East Queensland heat is at its peak. But if you're drawn to the charm of a summer wedding during this period, we are delighted to accommodate elopements & smaller wedding celebrations. These packages are specially designed to offer an intimate and memorable experience, even in the heart of summer.

The proximity of summer to the festive season also means that guests often have more flexibility with time off, making it easier for them to travel and attend your special day. Additionally, summer is an ideal time for honeymooning, especially for couples looking for a tropical getaway.
And for a touch of culinary delight, why not indulge in Ridgeway’s freshly shucked oysters, elegantly dressed with ponzu and mignonette? Paired with a chilled glass of bubbles, it’s a perfect choice to enhance the summer celebration experience.
The cons
During summer, the heat and humidity can be high, making it essential to consider lighter attire for the bridal party and to recommend for guests. This approach helps avoid discomfort from sweating in traditional wedding dresses or formal 3 piece suits. We recommend avoiding parterre garden ceremonies in the midday sun, as the heat can be quite overwhelming. Additionally, there's a possibility of late afternoon tropical storms, which are common during this season.
To ensure your guests' comfort, we highly suggest providing parasols, paper fans, or market umbrellas. These simple additions can make a significant difference in enhancing the overall experience in warm weather.
The summer heat can also affect floral arrangements, causing flowers to wilt more quickly. We advise consulting with your florist to select the most suitable flowers for the season, ensuring your floral displays remain vibrant and fresh throughout your celebration.
